NME Front cover page

Firstly, this front cover is very conventional in that it has a main image based around someone linked to the magazine. Elliot Smith is the main image of this magazine and it it is shown through the large font. Linking font, the font in this large and bold which makes the reader instantly read these.

Secondly, unconventionally, the main images covers the 'NME' masthead to somewhat reveal that everyone will know the name 'NME'.

Back to the Masthead, it is the the top left third of the page which almost every magazine does.

Conventionally about this magazine, is the Puff, 'Elliot Smith, finally....'. It is a famous person who is related in a way to magazine making it that ever more interesting. This magazine also has a main coverline; 'Elliot Smith' and sub coverlines that are all used to entice  the readers. The sub coverlines is being 'When Macca met Crackers...' and 'White lies new album'.

Throughout the whole front cover, it uses the same house style. All the font is the same as well as the same colours being used.
The images are also lack contrast purposely to follow the house style.

Lastly, the barcode is away from the main features of the cover page and the date and title is also small and feeble so that it doesn't catch the readers attention too much.
