My Preliminary Front Cover.

 This is my Preliminary task for my front cover. I am unsure whether or not to change it for my proper front cover. My contents page has already been done.

Evalutaion

My magazine is clearly for a Niche market rather than a mass market. I thought that aiming for a mass market would be too far wawy from the magazine I wil be eventually producing. It could be seen for a Mass Market as it is aimed for the sixth form but younger year groups may be enticed into reading.

- My front cover is conventional and typical in that the Masthead is in the top third of the page as it stands out to the readers. Also, the '6th' gives you a as the reader an idea who the magazine is for.

- I have also added personal pronouns to make the reader feel more involved and as if the writer cares about the readers. Also makes them want to read more as they think that they are the subject in the magazine.

- I have used the Pugs 'UP AND COMING EVENTS' to entice and lure people into reading the magazine. From seeing this they want to continue reading. Furthermore, the 'More inside' increases their 'want' to continue reading.

- Although I have used different colours, they all corrospond with the school therefore they are appropriate for my magazine cover. Also, the 'Up and Coming Events' and 'The Model' student use the same colour font as the contents page which allows it to flow better.

- Convetionally as, I have added the date and issuse number to keep the readers informed about the magazine.

- I have used original photography and photoshop for my image on the cover. It is convetional as it is at MCU and it dominates the bottom half of the page. In this case, the bottom right.

- This was produced in Microsoft Publisher.

The Contents Page

- Unlike all famous magazine designers, I have produced this in Microsoft Publisher.

- Conventionally, i have used different headings with the page number so it directs readers to the artical they want to see more. Like mentioned, I have used the same colour as it links the front cover and contents together.

- This image was not meant to be used however, we shall replace it for a different image which is more apropriate for the contents.

- We also used an image that is related to the school which allows most of the readers to relate to it. However, we may remove this specific image as it has no relevance to what has been mentioned.

- I have also used topics such as sports which adds variety to my contents page and also changes the range of my readers.
