This image was used in my contents page as a dominant figure of the contents. As you can see it started as a normal picture then I decided to edit it to fit the grime/dirty theme of my magazine. To do this however I had to used a specific software called Paint.net and in this program, it allowed me to used various effects on my images. This effect to me fitted my theme as it made the image look mystreious. Furthermore, using this I good change the brightness and the intensity of the effect, so if I wanted the person in the image to be unrecognisable then I would have put the intesity to its highest however, this wouldn't have fit my magazine as I wanted my readers to be able to identify with the main character.
This is the basic outline for the creation of this image;
As you can see I used the 'Ink Sketch' effect on Paint.net. The 'Ink Outline' determines how intense the ink appears, so the more darker the image then the more chance you cannot see the image. As you can see I didn't put it all the way up because like I said, I wanted the readers to be able to see the person in the image as he is a main focus of my magazine. Secondly on this I had to put colouring to its full otherwise it would look black and white which I thought wouldn't really fit my magazine. On this image I liked the way that his eyes are covered by dark frosted pixels. This is really effected as it makes his character look enigmatic.
What I also like about this image that the background is clear completely somewhat reflecting a mugshot taken in prison. This is suggestive of his 'ganster/grime' lifestyle which I talked about in my magazine.
